PROCEDURES

  1. Before beginning an exam read and complete all items on the Student Test Request and Grade Form including:
    • Student information
    • Section number, course abbreviation, course number and test number
    • Instructor's name/home campus
  2. All exams must be turned in no later than 30 minutes after closing.
  3. If your test is to be scored by the testing center, you will be given an answer sheet. Fill out the top of the answer sheet with your instructor's name, your name, course abbreviation, section number and course number. Use only a #2 pencil to shade in your answers to questions.
  4. Return all testing materials when you complete the test. If a key to grade your test is available, the test will be graded and you will be given the total number of questions correct. Please keep the feedback form until you are sure your instructor has recorded your grade. This is your proof of having taken the exam and your score. ONCE THE TEST HAS BEEN GRADED, IT CANNOT BE REVIEWED OR EXAMINED IN THE TESTING CENTER. Testing centers do not keep records of exams. Contact your instructor for feedback on incorrectly answered questions.
  5. Students retesting will have to bring a feedback form (yellow copy of Student Test Request and Grade Form) from the previous initial test showing the exam already taken.
  6. Any information included on your test is not to be taken from the testing center or presented to others either in writing or orally.
  7. All tests are monitored. Any student suspected of or caught cheating (including using unauthorized materials during testing) will be referred to the instructor and a Dean of Student Development. Scholastic dishonesty disciplinary actions range from exclusion from testing centers to expulsion from the College. Refer to the ACC Student Handbook for the College's discipline policies and procedures.
  8. When the testing center is full, students will have to sign a waiting list, take a ticket, or line up outside the testing center. The system used is different for each site. IF YOU DESIRE TO TAKE MORE THAN ONE TEST, YOU MUST LEAVE THE CENTER AND BEGIN THE PROCESS AGAIN.
  9. Student identification is required to take an exam. The following are acceptable:
    • Current ACC student ID with acceptable photo ID (see note below).
    • Current ACC official receipt with acceptable photo ID
    • Approved Temporary ACC Testing Center Photo ID Form obtained from testing center ($5.00 fee).
    • Instructor accompanies student to the testing center. (Student must take the test at that time.)
  10. Testing for incompletes requires:
    • Incomplete Grade Form or verification from Admissions and Records.
    • Acceptable photo ID (see note below).
  11. Testing center operating hours are subject to change without notice.
NOTE: An acceptable photo ID is one of the following:
  • Current Drivers License
  • Current Department of Public Safety ID
  • Current Passport
  • Current Department of Defense ID
  • Resident Alien Card
  • ACC Testing Center Photo ID

TESTING CENTERS

ACC is pleased to provide you with testing services. Integrity of exams, space limitations and the number of exams given daily call for guidelines to assure fair and prompt service.

A test will be administered only if you have proper identification: a valid photo ID, and a valid ACC ID or official fee receipt. Some tests also require written permission from the instructors; however, such a note is not sufficient identification alone.

Also, if a test deadline has passed, you must bring written permission from your instructor before taking the exam.

Initial and retesting on the same day is not allowed in the testing center. One calendare day must pass between the two

Check with your instructor to find out what materials may be used during the exam. Bring only materials allowed during the exam. All other itmes (purses, wallets, packs, calculator, handbooks, etc.) will be stored elsewhere of shelved, at you own risk, in the testing center. The testing center provides approved items, such as dictionaries, scantron answer sheets, and paper.

Having unauthorized materials with you while taking an exam is considered scholastic dishonesty and subjects you to disciplinary action.

Testing center staff may assign students to carrels.

Each test must be taken in one sitting. Testing center space limits administering tests that last more than 90 minutes. If you must leave before competing a test (even going to the restroom, unless for a doctor-verified reason), the test must be turned in and will be graded.

Children, as well as food and drinks, are not allowed in the testing center.
