The student who is enrolling in this course should know how to implement each of the following in some procedural programming language. If you are missing one or two, that may not be much of a problem. If several of these topics are unfamiliar to you, you may need a review of programming before taking this course. COSC 1315 Fundamentals of Programming will introduce you to all these concepts using the C++ programming landuage.

• keyboard input
• text file input
• integer, real (floating point) ,character, and boolean data types
• selection (branching)
• loops
• function subprograms
• general subprograms
• one dimensional arrays
• records (user defined data types or structures)
• arrays of records
• simple searching techniques
• simple sorting techniques (bubble sort)
