Austin Community College District (ACC) is closely monitoring COVID-19 developments in our region. The college remains in contact with Austin Public Health and our large institutional partners. At this time, ACC’s health and safety protocols remain in place. We are prepared to make operational changes as needed, including bringing back the health-screening app should increased community spread of the Delta variant continue.
The most important defense we can take against the virus and its variants is getting vaccinated. Just this week, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky called the rise of the Delta variant a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” Recent data has shown that 99 percent of the deaths from COVID-19 over the month of June were among unvaccinated people.
Your well-being remains a top priority. We continue to encourage anyone who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to make time to do so. Please visit www.vaccines.gov for a vaccination location near you.
The college will continue to host vaccination clinics on campus. The next clinic is Friday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eastview Campus. To learn more and register, email email@example.com or visit ACC’s COVID-19 vaccination web page. Next week, ACC will announce the details of more than 25 additional on-campus vaccination events over the next two months in concert with our community partners, including Austin Public Health.
Here are some steps you can take right now to protect yourself and those around you.
We will communicate any changes to health and safety protocols as we learn more. Meantime, please stay safe and healthy.
