Austin Community College District closely monitors the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in our region. The college’s Coronavirus website provides updates and resources for students and employees to ensure the continued health, safety, and well-being of the ACC community. Here, you will find information about classes, health services, and more. 

ACC offers a safe, affordable, flexible college experience. Many classes remain online and many employees continue to work remotely. The college will gradually scale-up hybrid learning opportunities for courses that require face-to-face components as the situation allows.

ACC Responds to COVID-19

Vaccines available on campus

ACC operates a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for current students, ACC employees, and their families and friends (those 18 and older) at ACC Highland Campus, Building 2000. Appointments are required. You may sign up by sending an email to from your ACC email address. Visit the COVID-19 Vaccination web page for more details. 

Summer & fall planning

ACC continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic in Central Texas including local case and vaccination rates to help guide college planning for summer and fall. Beginning summer 2021, the college expects to provide more in-person and hybrid learning opportunities as well as more student support services on campus. The continued return to campus remains gradual and thoughtful. Those who come to campus, whether vaccinated or not, are required to follow ACC’s health and safety protocols. Face masks and social distancing as well as health screenings and temperature checks at the door remain a standard at all campuses and facilities.


On-Campus TSI testing now available by appointment

ACC has reopened on-campus testing for in-person college assessment testing. This testing is now available by appointment. Testing is limited at this time to the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) — a state-required assessment test to determine college-readiness in reading, writing, and math. Appointments are limited to Fridays at the ACC Highland Campus. To request an appointment, complete the “TSI Test Request” form. The college’s Testing Center will email you within 48 business hours (Monday through Friday), to set up your test date and time. Remote testing also remains available. ACC's health & safety protocols remain in place

The State of Texas will lift its statewide mandate for face masks beginning Wednesday, March 10.  Recommendations regarding masks and social distancing from our healthcare partners have not changed.  As part of ACC's efforts to keep employees and students safe, the college has no plans to change the mask requirement at this time. ACC’s health and safety protocols remain in place, including social distancing and facial coverings that cover your nose and mouth. 

Mental health support for employees

ACC continues to offer employees a variety of support services including mental health services through Deer Oaks EAP. Free webinars are available now that share advice and tips for ongoing pandemic support. The first webinar on how to cope with anxiety during difficult times is available here. Highland ACCelerator open by appointment

The ACC Highland ACCelerator is now open by appointment to provide students with on-campus study space and access to technology. All students must 1) have a current ACC student photo ID card, 2) be enrolled for the current semester 3) have appropriate facial covering, 4) secure a study pod appointment confirmation, and 5) pass the health screening BEFORE entering the campus. Apply now for CRRSA Act Student Aid

Applications are now open for the second round of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act Student Aid. CRRSA is a new federal financial support for students impacted financially by COVID-19. The funds can provide tuition support and more for currently enrolled eligible ACC students. Virtual student support services

A full menu of student support services remains available to all students virtually. See Student Resources for more information. Students who indicate a need for a computing device through the Student Technology Services website are eligible to check out an ACC iPad. See Tech Distribution. In addition, the college provides free, secure drive-up WiFi to students and employees at all campus locations. WiFi may be accessed from the parking lots seven days a week, 7 am to 11 pm. In addition, ACC Libraries remain available for virtual support and services. 

Health & safety protocols on campus

All who come to ACC campuses and centers are required to follow new health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and better ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff. Requirements include wearing your ACC ID badge, facial coverings/masks, social distancing, and health screenings.
