Recent Updates

Steps to Stay Safe & Healthy

ACC encourages anyone who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to make time to do so. The college continues to host vaccination clinics on campus. To learn more, visit ACC’s COVID-19 vaccination web page. Here are additional steps you can take to protect yourself and those around you.

  1. Get vaccinated. It’s safe, effective, and free.
  2. Continue to maintain social distancing and try to avoid large gatherings.
  3. The college cannot mandate indoor masking, but we are encouraging it during this spike in cases as a result of the Delta variant.

New Building Access Protocols

Beginning July 6, the start of the second summer session, students and employees will no longer be required to fill out the Appian health screening app. Further, students, faculty, and staff will be allowed to enter ACC facilities from all public entrances. Please see the June 23 message from Campus Operations & Public Affairs for additional information: COVID-19 Business Access Protocols Beginning July 6.

ACC fully reopens in fall 2021

In fall 2021, ACC will significantly increase the number of face-to-face classes on campus. All ACC campuses will reopen in some capacity — some for class, some for support services, some for business operations, and others will offer a mix of all three. The college will offer a blended and balanced schedule of in-person and online course options including hybrid classes so that students may find the courses they need in the learning environment that works best for them. ACC's full suite of student support services also will be available both on-campus and online. Please see the Chancellor's Message: Plans to Fully Reopen this Fall for additional information.

Employee leave time for COVID vaccination

ACC employees are eligible for up to two hours of Administrative Leave in order to get their COVID vaccination. This temporary allowance allows for two hours of leave per shot. Employees must make arrangements with their supervisor prior to the vaccination and should record the time as Administrative Leave on their timesheet with "COVID-19 Vaccine" recorded in the comment box. Any additional time beyond the two hours will need to be recorded as personal/sick leave. Employees who previously used personal/sick leave for their COVID-19 vaccine will have an opportunity to reclassify their leave to Administrative Leave. Face Masks Welcome at ACC

ACC continues to welcome face masks on campus. Per CDC guidelines, face masks remain a good way to protect yourself from COVID-19. The option to wear a mask is voluntary per Governor Greg Abbott's executive order
