DRAWING 1 ACC DE FRESE
ASSIGNMENT : MULTI POINT PERSPECTIVE

Objective

Create a drawing using multiple vanishing points of linear perspective.
You must use one and two point perspective in your drawing.
The space may be an invented - fantasy space or achitectural setting or it may be observed from real life.
Incorporate an "old masters" figure drawing from the era (such as drawings by Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Degas, Van Gogh, Dali or any classical, anatomically correct human figure. NO COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS! The work you choose must be from a historically recognized artist whose chosen work is "real", complete figure - not abstract or partial figure.
The figure should be as accurate a representation of the original as possible.
The figure must be integrated into your composition as seamlessly as possible. The figure should not look "stuck in" as though it does not belong.
A photocopy of the figure you have chosen must be turned in with the final drawing.
The viewers focal point should be created by the combined use of value and linear perspective.
Avoid using contour line as the means of defining shapes - use value changes

Materials

Mixed media - pencil , ink , pen, brush, wash, conte, charcoal - a combination of any 2
High quality paper ( arches, BFK, bristol board) will give you better results than sketch pad paper and is highly recommended.

Procedure

Find several different reproductions of old master figure drawings that might be suitable for your assignment. Bring photocopies or book copies of 3 different potential drawings that you think you could use to class.

You must have the copies in class on Wednesday or lose a grade point on this project!

You may want to bring reproductions of sitting and standing poses of figures to give your bad self a variety to choose from depending on the setting you choose to incorporate them into.
There will be 3 class periods allowed for this drawing. Pace yourself accordingly.
