Use Newton's Version of Kepler's Third Law to find the mass of the Moon.

STEP 1

The data from the book:

M₁ = M_Earth = 5.97 X 10²⁷ grams

M₂ = M_Moon = ?

P = 27.3 days (note this is different from the length of the month!)

A = 384, 000 kilometers
