Homework Extra Credit
Below are some suggestions for things you can do for extra homework credit. The list will probably change, so check in often!

Movie Reviews

In recent years, there have been some movies with "spacey" themes, such as Mission to Mars, Lost in Space, Deep Impact, Armageddon and of course the Star Wars films. Watch one of these films, and write a brief (1-2 pages, typed and double spaced) review of it. Focus on the Science in the film, good or bad. What aspects of the film were believable and plausible? What parts made you go "Yeah, right!"? You can review a film to take the place of your lowest homework grade, even a homework you did not do.

Newspaper Articles

Astronomy is always in the news! Clip a newspaper article about an astronomical discovery and write a 1 page summary of the article, explaining how it relates to our class. How does it expand upon the material presented in class? Does it contradict stuff we have talked about in class? Each article can earn up to 1, 2 or 3 extra points added onto a homework grade. You may submit up to 3 articles.
