MATH 1314 Review for the Final Exam -
Build your own review sheet

For the final exam, you are expected to know everything from the semester, so you should look back over the test reviews for tests 1-4. I realize that is a lot of material, so I am going to give you some guideance to help you focus in on your studying. I am providing an outline of the types of problems I have decided to ask about on the final exam. For your review, I want you to look back through the chapter reviews I have assigned for Tests 1-4 and find at least 2 examples of each of the problem types I list and pull those together to "make your own review sheet" (don't get too carried away; there are a lot of things here, so only do more than 2 problems each on things you know you need exra work on). You will have to turn this in as your test review (and it will count heavily on your written homework grade).

Take this seriously, because this is how I expect students to study for exams in my college credit lecture courses (i.e., I normally don't provide a list of review problems, but give enough information so students can pull together their own review sheet). If you are having trouble understanding what something in the list refers to, please post on the Discussion Boards. Also, if you are having trouble tracking something down, you can post help requests there as well. To give you a little more help, I have indicated which chapter each thing comes from. Also, everything on the final exam comes directly from one of the earlier tests (though the formulas and numbers and exact problems have changed), so there shouldn't be any surprises on the final exam.

In the outline below, find example problems for each of the things with a chapter number by it; these may come from the test reviews or from the chapter homework.

This list is sorted by topics, arranged more or less like I put them on the exam (not everything is on the exam, of course):

(Scroll down for a list sorted by chapter)

This is a second copy of the SAME list, but now sorted by chapter (to make it easier to pull together your review sheet):
