MTH 1583 Suggested Homework

When a range of problems is listed, your homework is all the odd-numbered problems and the even-numbered problems ending in 4 and 8.

You need to be familiar with all the usual names and formulas from geometry. You have seen many of these before in your previous courses, but this section provides a review of them. Ask your instructor which you should memorize. Be sure to use your calculator as needed in all of this homework

Appendix D: 1-38

The algebra used in this course is mostly solving various sorts of equations and using formulas. In your previous math courses, you will have solved equations in several ways. We will review these, to some extent, but we will focus on using this material to solve applied problems.

2.6: 21-25

2.7: 5-9, 15-19, 25-29

2.8: 1-5, 11-15, 21-25, 31-35
