Students, faculty, and staff are invited to several communication events as part of the second annual ACC COMMS Week, hosted by the Communications Program.
PechaKucha contest
A student speech contest will be Tuesday, October 9, starting at 7 p.m. at Highland Campus, Building 4000 Commons Area. Students will present short speeches in PechaKucha style, which has 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each. Prizes will be awarded including a $100 grand prize.
Communications Brown-Bag Workshop
Brown-bag lunch discussions covering successful team communications will be Wednesday, October 10, from noon to 1 p.m. at the following locations.
Participants will learn the key ingredients to group synergy, the formula for getting a group to thrive, and how to perfect individual contributions to group discussions.
PechaKucha Finale
COMMS Week wraps up Thursday, October 11, at 7:20 p.m. with PechaKucha Austin. The event, hosted at 2003 Wheeles Ln.) is sponsored by Austin Art Alliance, PechaKucha Austin, and ACC Communication Studies. It is free and open to the public.
