Be Still My Heart by Kathy Dunn Hamrick

Be Still, My Heart, choreographed by Kathy Dunn Hamrick, adjunct faculty of dance, was listed on the Austin Chronicle's Top 10 Dance and Classical Joys of 2018.

Lorlie Ellis, Ed.D., dean of Business Studies, was honored at the Leander Chamber of Commerce's Sixth Annual Black History Month Celebration, which featured speaker Gigi Edwards Bryant, chair of the ACC Board of Directors. Community Impact covered the event.

Roxanne Gage, Dance Department instructional associate, was nominated for the Texas Dance Educators Association's Lifetime Achievement Award. Out of 1,000 Texas dance teachers, she made the top three!

Based upon the success of an Introduction to Humanities course developed by a team of five ACC faculty members led by Ted Hadzi-Antich, Jr., chair and associate professor of Government, the Teagle Foundation awarded ACC a $260,000 grant. With this support, by the end of the current academic year, 39 ACC faculty will be trained to teach HUMA 1301: The Great Questions Seminars. The grant also supports seven Great Questions faculty members to present work related to this project at professional conferences in New York City; San Antonio, TX; and Santa Fe, NM. Moreover, the Teagle grant funds the development of a lecture series to help promote study in the liberal arts at community colleges.

Roland Hayes, history professor, received the "Golden Apple Award" from Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Alpha Kappa Sigma Chapter. Professor Hayes was honored for his contributions to excellence in education.

Geraldine Tucker, Esq., vice president of Human Resources, received the "Migration and Movement Award" from The Committee Austin Original Chapter. Tucker was honored for her contributions to move students into higher education.
