ACC and Austin Chamber release the 2019 Workforce Development Report

Austin Community College (ACC), the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and Austin Mayor Steve Adler present the 2019 Workforce Development Report: Innovation, Collaboration & Transformation at the President’s Breakfast Wednesday, August 21.

Date: Wednesday, August 21

Time: 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Location: Austin Chamber of Commerce, Board Room (535 E. 5th St.).

The report examines the most urgent workforce needs in Central Texas and ACC’s progress toward improving access, persistence, and completion rates.

“To widen the pipeline of skilled workers, the college must examine how it may better serve all students, particularly those underrepresented in higher education,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “Addressing workforce needs requires a multi-stakeholder collaboration. The Austin Chamber and Mayor Adler share in our vision to build a stronger economy through highly affordable and accessible education. Together, with our business and industry partners, we can create opportunities for all residents to obtain higher wage jobs.”

ACC also will unveil details of a new $12 million Department of Labor Grant to fund apprenticeships opportunities in Central Texas.
