ACC examines global hunger in Global Issues Speaker Series

Global Issues Speaker Series

Austin Community College (ACC) presents a discussion on the rise in global hunger rates as part of the college's fall 2019 Global Issues Speaker Series.

Hosted by ACC's International Programs, the presentation is Wednesday, September 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastview Campus, Room 8500 (3101 Webberville Rd.).

ACC Adjunct Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Linda Cox will examine the cause and discuss solutions and explore questions around the role gender equality plays in answering these questions.

"After decades of progress, the global hunger rate is once again rising, and today almost a billion people are dangerously undernourished," says Dr. Cox. "Women in Sub-African countries like Malawi are suffering the most harm. Together, we’ll take a deep look to see what is causing the rise in global hunger and our obligations to help solve the problem."

The event is free and open to the public.
