NSF grants ACC $7.5M to develop national biotechnology center
ACC was awarded a $7.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a new national biotechnology education center to address the rapidly growing need for highly skilled technicians in biotechnology. The InnovATEBIO Center will build a national network of educators, students, alumni, and industry partners including incubators, trade organizations, and professional societies to develop and share best practices in biotechnology workforce development. Manufacturing Incubator and Academy announced for Highland
ACC celebrated the announcement of the college's third incubator at ACC Highland to nurture businesses and grow a talent pipeline in Austin's $12.3 billion manufacturing industry on October 25. The new IMPACT Lab, funded in part by a grant from the National Economic Development Administration, will also house a future ACC Manufacturing Academy developed in partnership with the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association. Career ACCelerator expands through JP Morgan Chase partnership
ACC will expand the Career ACCelerator Program and apprenticeship and other earn-and-learn positions for students through a $250,000 grant awarded by JPMorgan Chase. Students receive financial assistance, paid internships, and an opportunity to earn a certificate that counts toward a college degree. Learn more here.

ACC Police collecting donations for people affected by breast cancer
ACC District Police launched their Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in October. Throughout the month, District Police personnel have the option to sport pink badge bands and will be collecting donations that will help comfort people going through chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. Fall Campus Conversation held at Eastview
The college hosted its fall Campus Conversation on October 3 at Eastview. More than 100 ACC students, faculty, and staff joined the conversation and others tuned in via livestream to hear updates on the college's priorities for 2019-20, including ACC's commitment toward building stronger communication and engagement, updating technology and data, and developing the new districtwide campus master plan. Luncheons honor employees with service anniversaries
Employees who reached their five-year service anniversary were recognized at a special luncheon with Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Austin on October 4. Luncheons for employees who reached 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service will take place in November. Learn more here.

New TLED podcast launched
ACC's Teaching & Learning Excellence Division released its first Teaching & Learning Champions (TLC) podcast. Each TLC episode will feature an interview with faculty, staff, and students on the things that positively impact teaching & learning, and as a result, the success of our students. Listen here.
