Graduation and completion rates at ACC are up nearly 1,000 graduates from spring and up almost 52 percent over the past five years. Combined with the transfer rate, the college is No. 1 among large community college peers in Texas.

“What’s happening here is transformative,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “This year, ACC graduates have earned 1,000 more awards over last year. Our completion and transfer rates are among the top in the state. It’s because of the education and support our students receive at ACC, that I know they are off to do great things in our community. I’m proud and honored to celebrate their successes.”

The commencement ceremony honors those who have completed ACC’s associate degree, certificate, and high school equivalency programs.

The ceremony includes a tribute to graduating veterans, who are recognized with medallions in appreciation of their service.

Massey Villarreal will deliver the keynote address. Villarreal is president/CEO of Precision Task Group, Inc., a Hispanic-owned and managed technical systems integration firm providing business solutions to public and private sector firms. He is recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the United States. Villarreal was the first person to serve as chairman of a local, state, and national Hispanic chamber when he served as chairman of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
