Find a career in healthcare: ACC hosts Health Sciences Open House

Demand for local healthcare professionals is growing. One in every four new jobs expected over the next decade in Central Texas is in healthcare. Austin Community College (ACC) hosts its annual Health Science Open House for students and the community to explore its programs and find a rewarding career.

DATE: Saturday, February 22

TIME: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LOCATION: ACC Eastview Campus Buildings 8000 and 9000, 3101 Webberville Rd.

Guests will explore state-of-the-art facilities, speak with faculty and students, view live demonstrations, and learn how to get started.

“The need for qualified healthcare workers continues to grow. Our healthcare partners are looking for more qualified students, and we are dedicated to fulfilling those needs,” says Pat Recek, ACC dean of Health Sciences. “The open house provides those interested in getting into this field a chance to see what’s out there and the training options that are available at ACC.”

The college offers more than a dozen healthcare degrees and technical certificates. For the first time, the Biotechnology program will also be featured during the open house.

Hosted by the Health Sciences Division, the event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required but is recommended.
