ACC remembers Juneteenth with talks on equity & inclusion

Austin Community College District (ACC) is looking deeper at what we can do to affect meaningful change in our community to address racial injustice and inequalities. On Friday, June 19, the college hosted a roundtable with students, employees, and community members to discuss the importance of Juneteenth — a day that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas. Participants reflected on historical events, shared their own experiences with racial injustice, and engaged in courageous conversations to discuss challenges, gaps, and opportunities for growth. ACC is listening and learning. We applaud our community's commitment to helping build awareness so that we may create a more just and equitable society together. We invite you to watch the conversation in the clip above.
