Black History Month 2021: The Future of Black America

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of the accomplishments and contributions of Black Americans to culture and society. Austin Community College District (ACC) commemorates the month with a series of virtual events and profiles.

This year's theme is The Future of Black America. ACC faculty, staff, students, and the community are invited to take part in the events sponsored by the college, ACC Student Life, and the ACC African-American Cultural Center. Events include:

February 3 | 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Kickback Black: Kicking off BHM 2021

February 10 | 12-1 p.m.
Social Distancing Hour Discussion - The Future of Black America; How Do We Move On From Here?

February 17 | 3:30-5 p.m.
Salon/Barbershop Talk: "Girrll" & "BRUH!"

February 22 | 3-5 p.m.
Film Chats: White Scripts and Black Supermen

February 24 | 1:30-3 p.m.
"Get Your Weight Up!"- Being Black and Being in Business
