Success Story! The benefits of adopting an ACC pet

Austin Community College District (ACC) needs your help finding homes for our pets. As the summer semester comes to a close, the animals cared for by our Veterinary Technology students need to find a forever or foster family.

Watch the video to learn more about Cleo’s adoption story. Cleo came to ACC in fall 2019 and was adopted at the end of the semester by ACC marketing photographer, Cata Abagiu.

Like all ACC pets, Cleo was under the loving care of ACC’s Veterinary Technology department students, faculty, and staff. All ACC pets:

  • Undergo Socialization and Leash Training,
  • Are Microchipped,
  • Receive Medical Care,
  • Are Fully Vaccinated, and
  • Are Under Heartworm Prevention.

This semester, the ACC Vet Tech department is caring for nine dogs and three cats. All are still waiting for their forever home. The semester ends August 5. Any pet that hasn’t found a home by then will be placed with a foster family through Austin Pets Alive!
