Happening Now: ACC student competing at New York Fashion Week

Local fashion designer and ACC student Lisa Husberg is in New York competing against six other designers at the inaugural SohoMuse & Runway 7 Runway Muse show. Husberg is a member of the ACC Fashion Incubator’s designer-in-residence program where she works as a student contractor. She’s also the owner of Loka.Haus where she creates clothing from sustainable, washable silk, as well as jewelry and fragrances.

As part of the Runway 7 Muse Show, she will showcase a piece from her eveningwear collection along with a casual piece. The event is live-streamed and showcased in front of a live audience of fashion VIPs, influencers, press, and buyers. 

The first-prize winner will be awarded an original 20-piece collection; the first runner-up will be awarded a 15-piece collection, and the second runner-up will be awarded a 10-piece collection. Runway 7 also will hold product development meetings with the winning designers, and all designs will be produced by Runway 7. 

ACC Fashion Incubator Designer-in-Residence Program:

Student contractors selected to be part of the designer-in-residence program receive exclusive access to product development, production, and business mentorship at ACC’s Fashion Incubator located in ACC Highland, Building 4000. The 7,500-square-foot facility offers designers access to the full digital solutions package from Gerber Technology, including manufacturing equipment valued at $13.1 million, branded studio space, access to Design Lab, and sourcing and mentoring support.
