How does it feel to be graduating

Graduating feels rewarding because it’s an important milestone for a first-generation student. Like many of my peers and family members, I also feel proud to graduate as it reflects all my hard work and motivation at ACC. Graduating is a self-reminder that I’m halfway to completing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Texas State University, bringing me closer to my career goals and desires.

What was your favorite part of ACC

My favorite part of ACC was the size and versatility of the classes. I first attended ACC online in 2020 since it was during the peak of Covid, and like many, it was a major adjustment. As ACC opened its in-person classes, I was surprised at how small the class sizes were and felt very engaged with my professors.

Any faculty or staff you want to recognize supporting you

I would like to recognize professors Jason Briggeman and Felicitas Adu-Acheampong, who sparked my interest in economics by answering my questions about how to apply the material to real-world situations. I would also like to recognize Professor Kris S. Seago, who not only made me understand our local and Texas government but motivated students to be the change in our democracy.

What is next for you

After graduation, I will move to San Marcos to attend Texas State University to continue my education and complete my degree plan in Marketing. My current internship is coming to an end, but it has helped me gain skills expected in an office/business setting, and I will look for an internship or part-time job that will specify more on Marketing skills that employers demand.
