Office of Compliance

The ACC Compliance Office assists students and employees who provide complaints regarding discrimination and harassment in the education or work environment.

Student concerns may be addressed in collaboration with the appropriate Student Affairs Dean of Students.  Employee concerns may be resolved in collaboration with the supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Investigations are conducted by a trained Compliance Investigator.

Sexual Misconduct

Students and employees facing discrimination and harassment based on sex or gender should consult the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and process.

Student Policies

Students facing discrimination and harassment based on Disability, Race, Color, or National Origin should refer to the following policy: Prohibition of Discrimination or Harassment of Students on the Basis of Disability, Race, Color, or National Origin.

Employee Policies

Employees wishing to file a formal complaint regarding discrimination and harassment should consult A.R. 6.02.001 – Employee Freedom from Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation.

Employee Reporting Requirements

State and Federal Law require all employees of Austin Community College to report to the District Title IX Coordinator if they become aware of the following:

  • Sexual Assault                
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Interpersonal Violence (Dating or Domestic)
  • Stalking
  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Gender-based harassment that is not sexual in nature

Employees receiving reports while in the course and scope of their employment are mandated to report regardless of when and where the incident occurred.  This includes reports of off-campus behaviors.

Informational programs regarding ACC’s sexual misconduct policy and can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of audiences across the District.
