Healthy Relationships: Recognizing Toxic Behaviors

Relationships can be tough. They require honesty, trust, respect, communication, and openness to work together. But an unhealthy relationship can leave you feeling unsupported, misunderstood, drained, and attacked. Join District Clinical Counselors and Equal Opportunity Compliance to learn how to recognize toxic behaviors within your partners and yourself. We will also be providing additional resources to help you navigate your relationships.

Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night (TBTN) is part of a worldwide movement that started in the 1970s. This event allows students a safe space to speak out in support and envision an end to sexual assault and interpersonal violence. Attendees can listen to survivor stories, share their experience if they choose, seek support from resources, and take part of a trauma-informed mindfulness practices. ACC’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance and the District Clinical Counseling team commemorates this national day of action by elevating the strong voices of those affected by these issues. Keynote and trauma informed mindfulness exercise will be facilitated by YWCA Greater Austin.

Thank you for joining us during the Clothesline Project!

Students at the Elgin and Eastview campuses participated in the Clothesline Project, decorating t-shirts to build a powerful visual display bringing awareness to sexual assault and domestic violence. Shirts decorated this year will be displayed in next year’s programs!
