About Rita

ritaRita Banninger is an Adjunct Professor in the Marketing Department teaching Fashion Merchandising courses through Distance Learning. Rita has been teaching for ACC since the fall of 2004. She earned a B.S. in Human Ecology, with a major in Fashion Design from Kansas State University. She teaches Introduction to Fashion and Fashion Trends for the department.

Rita's fashion background includes working in jewelry retail in Manhattan, Kansas, doing window displays and sales as well as being coordinating stylist for the Museum of Natural History art opening the winter of 1990, Austin, TX. She also enjoys sewing and has done various sewing projects from altering a vintage 1950's wedding gown to costuming for local theater. Rita was nominated for an Austin Circle of Theater Award for Outstanding Costume Design for the theater production of "The Beggar's Opera," produced by The Public Domain Theater, 1995. Recently she has been sewing and marketing women's hats. Rita also helps with the Pinnacle Campus Meals-on-Wheels route delivery.
