Greetings

You have found the homepage for the Renewable Energy Student Association, a student chapter of American Solar Energy Society.

The goals of the Renewable Energy Student Assocaion are to provide Austin Community College students with:

  1. A forum to discuss ideas and concerns
  2. A way to support the renewable energy program and other "Green" programs
  3. Opportunites to attend industry seminars and conferences
  4. A cohesive approach to promote the renewable energy agenda including energy efficiency, alternative technologies for vehicles and "Green" sustainable practices
  5. A clearing house for news and job opportunies relating to renewable energy, energy efficiency, alternative technologies for vehicles and "Green" sustainable practices.
  6. Valuable intellectual and social activities that enhance the academic experience
  7. Job referrals, Recommendations and Connections to professionals in the fields relating to renewable energy, energy efficiency, alternative technologies for vehicles and businesses involved in "Green" sustainable practices.

Who We Are
The Renewable Energy Student Association or RESA, a student chapter of American Solar Energy Society and a club affiliated with Austin Community College, whose intended goal is to promote the educational and professional success of current and future practitioners in all the fields related to the renewable energy field including but not limited to building efficiency, alternative technologies for automotive and "Green" sustainable practices. We also connect students, organizations, educators and business in the renewable energy, building efficiency, alternative technologies for automotive and business involved in "Green" sustainable practices. We provide information about meetings, jobs, organizations, and other programs related to renewable energy, building efficiency, alternative technologies for automotive and "Green" sustainable practices.

Membership

  • All membership in the association shall be open to any students, faculty and staff of Austin Community College, industry professionals, businesses and organizations. Members are encouraged to be part of national organization, American Solar Energy Society (ASES).
  • The association breaks down the membership requirements into two parts, General Membership and Associate Membership:
  • General Membership
  • a. Membership is limited to registered students, both undergraduate and continuing education, of the Austin Community College, who are members of American Solar Energy Society. Any student at Austin Community College is eligible to become a member of this student chapter.
  • b. Each member shall pay dues with reduced student discount levied by ASES per year to be an active member with full benefits and rights including voting on matters concerning this organization and be eligible to hold office on the Executive Committee.
  • Associate Membership is granted to faculty, staff, and the spouses of members, any students registered with Austin Community College who is not a member of ASES, any current or former students not registered with Austin Community College, industry professionals, businesses and organizations. Associate members may not hold office or vote on matters concerning this organization, but are fully entitled to the remainder of the rights and benefits as enjoyed by a general member. There is no membership due nor is Associate Members required to join ASES.
