DEADLINES FOR
Homework Assignments and Quizzes
On MyEconLab over chapters from
Economics Today: The Macro View by Roger LeRoy Miller

Note #1: Though the points students earn for doing these MyEconLab Homework Assignments and Quizzes will not figure DIRECTLY into their grade for the course, they will figure into their grade INDIRECTLY. The reason for this is that students cannot take the UNIT EXAMS or the Final Exam without working through these MyEconLab assignments. Students must make at least a 65% on each assignment before they can move on to the next assignment and eventually onto the UNIT EXAMS. For a listing of the Prerequisites for all the MyEconLab assignments and Blackboard exams see HERE.

Each Chapter Homework Assignment is worth up to 20 points. Students will have to make a 65% (13 of 20 points) on each to be able to move on the the associated Chapter Quiz. Each Chapter Quiz is worth up to 40 points. Students will have to make 65% (26 of 40 points) on these Quizzes to move on to the next Chapter Homework Assignment or to the UNIT EXAM. The points students earn on homework assignments on MyEconLab will be exactly the points recorded for Homework Assignments on the course's ACC Blackboard gradebook site. The same is true for the points earned on MyEconLab Quizzes. The Chapter Homework Assignments and Quizzes can be submitted after their due dates. The due dates are a guide to help you pace yourself through the course. There are rewards for keeping pace with these deadlines though. The UNIT Exams (Exam 1, Exam 2, Exam 3, and Exam 4) connot be taken if the MyEconLab assignments for the chapters in the UNIT have not been completed and passed with a grade of at least 65%. If students complete the MyEconLab assignments by the deadline for the UNIT Exams, they will earn 10 extra credit points. If students take their initial attempt on a UNIT Exam by its deadline, they will earn another 10 extra credit points. So that is 20 extra credit points for taking exams by their deadlines. Retests on UNIT Exams may be taken after the deadline without losing those extra credit points. When retesting, the highest grade of the three attempts is used.

NOTE #2: It takes about an hour for the grades on Pearson's MyEconLab to update on the course's ACC Blackboard site. This is important to remember when trying to take UNIT Exams, because the UNIT Exams will not appear in their folders until the last Chapter Quiz in a UNIT is recorded in Blackboard's gradebook with a grade of 65% or better. Students can view what grades have been posted by clicking on My Grades in the left navigation column of Blackboard.

Comprehensive Final Exam Deadline for Extra Credit is December 8

(The last day of the 16 week Fall Semester is Sunday December 11.)

Extra Credit Assignment Exams on Blackboard cover chapters from
Miller's Economics Today: The Macro View

Students must make at least a 65% or better on these exams to earn any points on the tests.
If a student makes 65% or better on an Extra Credit Assignment Exam, I will take the percentage correct the student made on such an exam and multiply that percentage times 50 points.
For example, if a student made an 80% on the Extra Credit Assignment 1 Exam, I would record 40 extra credit points for that score (0.80*50=40).
However, if a student make a 64% on the Extra Credit Assignment 1 Exam, then I would record no extra credit for that score.
Like all the assignments in the course, the MyEconLab Assignments are prerequisites for taking the Extra Credit Assignment Exams.
Since many students may be taking these exams on the last day of the semester, Sunday, December 12, it may take up to an hour for the MyEconLab Quiz scores to update on the Blackboard gradebook. This is important because the Extra Credit Assignment Exams will not open until Blackboard can ascertain whether a 65% or better was made on Chapter 18 and Chapter 32 MyEconLab Quizzes.

NOTE: The chapter homework and quiz assignments are on the Pearson MyLab & Mastering site. THE EXTRA CREDIT EXAMS ARE FOUND ON BLACKBOARD under Course Content/Extra Credit.
