  • And we’re back! All campus libraries opened August 23 for in-person services - hours vary by campus. Check the Library Hours page before coming to see us.

• Registration Services

  • ACC Registration Stations are available to assist and provide one-on-one support with the online registration and tuition payment systems for returning students once you have met with an academic advisor and your courses planned.

    New ACC students will receive course planning and registration support by attending orientation. Once you have completed your application, be on the lookout for your orientation invitation and sign up for a session that fits your schedule. • Supplemental Instruction

  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) supports online and in-person classes.  Students will meet regularly in SI study sessions held outside of class either in-person if the class is in-person, or online through Google Meet, if the class is online.

    College Readiness Assessments

    • All first-time college students must take The Texas Success Initiative (TSI), a state-required assessment test to determine college-readiness in reading, writing, and math OR the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) assessment which includes a written exam, computer test and oral interview to measure your English reading, writing, listening, and speaking levels.

    Instructional Testing

    • Your instructor will let you know what testing methods will be used for your course.
    • Limited proctored testing is available at the Testing Center for makeup tests, incompletes, challenge (CLEP) exams, and Student Accessibility Services (SAS) testing. Check your syllabus for testing policies.
    • Remote proctoring is available through the Distance Education department for fully online courses. Please visit the Online Testing page for more information on ACC's online testing options.
• Transfer Services

  • Interested in transferring to a four-year college or university? Get one-on-one assistance from ACC Career & Transfer Specialists. We can assist virtually or in person with transfer applications, essay and resume review, and help you explore transfer destinations.

  • ACC'S Student Emergency Fund will help you stay on track to reach your academic and career goals should you experience unexpected expenses or a reduction or loss of income. Online requests can be submitted at any time, staff will work on them Monday- Friday, 8-5pm.
    Fall Student Emergency Fund Application(SEF) will reopen on Monday, August 23rd.

• Work-Study

  • The College Work-Study Program provides eligible ACC students with the opportunity to work part-time in a community service position or a field related to their area of study. Work-study employees work up to 19 hours per week, receive a semi-monthly paycheck, and are paid $15.60 - $16.10 per hour depending on their position.

• Campus Assessment Response Evaluation and Support (CARES)

  • The CARES program is dedicated to the prevention, early intervention, and response to students’ concerning, disruptive, and threatening behaviors. If a person poses an active or immediate risk of violence to self or others, ACC Police should be contacted at 512-223-7999 or call 911.

• Student Advocacy Center: Child care, Textbooks, & Community Support Resources

  • The Student Advocacy Center (formerly the Support Center) provides specialized assistance and referrals to help you overcome personal and family challenges to completing your education. Student advocates can assist you in connecting to child care, housing, health care, transportation, and other assistance. • Child Care and Family Support
  • Find options for child care support here: www.austincc.edu/students/child-care. Additionally, ACC’s Student Advocacy Center can provide eligible parents with child care scholarships and guidance accessing related family support, including family civil legal assistance.
• Food Access and Benefits Help

  • You and your family can receive groceries at no cost through ACC's partnerships with Central Texas Food Bank's (CTFB) mobile food distributions and other community partner food access opportunities. ACC-hosted food access events will be updated on this schedule and on ACC’s events calendar.

    Apply for ongoing federal benefits like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Women, Infants & Children (WIC) with the help of ACC's trained Student Advocacy Center specialists or schedule an appointment with CTFB. Apoyo con SNAP aplicación por CTFB.

• Rent, Housing and Utility Assistance
  • For one-time emergency assistance paying your utility bill or other housing-related bills, check out Community Resources in your county and ACC’s Student Emergency Fund. To receive timely community resource information, sign-up for ACC’s Social Support Resource Development (SSRD) listserv/newsletter. For general help with housing and utilities, reach out to ACC's Student Advocacy Center.
• Transportation

  • Transit Pass: ACC students enrolled in credit classes or Adult Education classes are eligible for a free transit pass for Capital Metro’s busses, trains, and new rideshare program called Pickup. Register for your free public transit "green pass" each semester here.

    Car Share: ACC students, faculty, and staff can join Zipcar for free with a $15 annual membership fee. Cars can be reserved for as little as an hour or for multiple days.

    Bike: Bike racks are available at all campuses. Bike Repair Stations are available at select ACC campuses.
