Will Smith Book Club Launch Party

Wednesday, January 19th, 3pm-4:15pm

Student Government Association, BRASS and TRHT Presents the “Will Smith Book Club Launch Party”. Join ACC students, faculty, and staff as we embark on monthly book discussions of Actor Will Smith’s latest book "Will". Receive a free book, and be impacted by the stories and growth shared via the international book club meetings and ACC community discussions.

Black History Month

Black Health and Wellness for Sustainable Living

February 2022

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of the accomplishments and contributions of Black Americans to culture and society. Austin Community College District (ACC) commemorates the month with a series of hybrid events and profiles. Events are free and open to the community. Please check back here throughout the month as more events are added.

All events are sponsored by the College, ACC Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Center, and the ACC African-American Cultural Center.


Kickback Black: Kicking off BHM 2022

Description: This event is a chill space to come together and meet some folks within the ACC and Greater Austin community. Event will be facilitated by Professor Roland Hayes, a long-time pillar within the ACC and Austin communities, and Professor Corey Greathouse, the African and African Diaspora Studies Program Coordinator.

Art Walk

HBCU Transfer Panel

Taking Control of Your Money

 Students are able to learn how to be financially fit and gain more confidence in making financial decisions. This workshop will cover budgeting, credit, and building wealth.

 BRASS Graduation/End of Year Celebration

May 2022

The BRASS Graduation Ceremony is a pre-commencement celebration to honor BRASS students who through unyielding determination have successfully completed their degree requirements and successfully completing the semester at ACC.

The ceremony is representative of African and African American culture and heritage, embraces the value of community and scholarship. This is a celebration for ACC BRASS students to be recognized for their accomplishments and an opportunity to honor significant people who have helped them achieve their goals.
