Honors Course: MATH 1332 – College Mathematics

“Math and Politics”

This course is intended to provide non-math and non-science majors with a survey of topics in mathematics. The topics chosen will:

  • Connect mathematics with other disciplines (e.g. political science, sociology, history, etc.)
  • Help students connect mathematics with their daily lives.
  • Explore the contributions of various cultures to mathematics.
  • Provide an opportunity to appreciate mathematics as a way of thinking.
  • Increase and improve students’ quantitative literacy.
