What is Taco Bowl? I’m happy you asked! Taco Bowl is a free, trivia-based event where Honors Students (and friends) are welcome to attend, participate in some trivia questions, win fun prizes and trophies, and of course, eat some tacos!  This year, Taco Bowl will be hosted at ACC’s Highland Campus on April 21st starting at 6pm (Room 2219 in Bldg. 1000). We’ll be featuring some trivia from our very own Honors faculty, so hey, you might even learn some new things!  Spots are limited, however, so make sure to RSVP your spot today! We hope to see you there for some competitive fun!

Join the ACC Honors Program for “What Do We Do Now?: Moving Toward a New Economics of Biospheric Restoration,” a presentation by Chris Searles

Chris Searles is founder/director of BioIntegrity, a research-based advocate for protection and restoration of Earth’s biospheric integrity. Once a full-time musician who performed with Bruce Springsteen, Los Lobos, Alejandro Escovedo, and other national and local acts, Chris now devotes much of his time to producing content, events, and education designed to facilitate biospheric literacy and action on supporting the most effective solutions to the climate and species extinction crises. So far, the BioIntegrity community has helped fund protection of more than 318,000 acres of old growth tropical forests, which is helping to save thousands of species from extinction, keep more than 80 million tons of greenhouse gasses out of the atmosphere, and create land occupation rights for more than 400 Indigenous communities around the world.

This presentation will share how protecting and regrowing “Nature’s infrastructure” has more than enough capacity to reverse climate change, stop the extinction crisis, restore milder weather, and set the table for a more equal and abundant future. It will take change. It will take work. It requires new Economics and new ways of thinking about who and what we are. Let’s forge a new first priority for the human project: restoring Earth’s biospheric integrity.
