ESOL Assessment

ACC's ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Program requires an assessment to be eligible to take classes. The ESOL assessment includes a written exam, computer test and oral interview to measure your English reading, writing, listening, and speaking levels. In some cases, your results may indicate you do not need ESOL classes.

ESOL Assessment Steps

Step 1: Oral Interview
Register for an oral interview appointment at Attend the appointment before you begin Step 2.

Step 2:  Pay (only after Step 1)
Pay the $29 assessment fee online

Step 3: Take the ESOL Online Assessment (only after Step 2 is complete)
Go to the Testing Center where you want to test.

Step 4: Advising Appointment
Register for an ESOL advising appointment at At the appointment, the assessor will explain your test scores, placement levels and how to register.
