Austin Community College wants you to achieve the college and career goals you have set for yourself. Our Veteran Affairs specialists will help you navigate the college enrollment process and enjoy the full value of your active duty or veteran's educational benefits.
Beginning Fall 2015, Chapter 33 Post 9-11 GI Bill® veterans that are not 100% eligible for the benefit as per their Certificate of Eligibility and are not using the Texas Hazlewood Exemption to pay for unmet tuition will be required to pay tuition in full or engage in the college payment plan before their next tuition payment deadline. Failure to exercise either one of these options will result in the loss of all classes. When the college receives tuition payment from VA Regional Processing Office in Oklahoma, any tuition credit will be refunded to the student.
The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. You can access a personalized data sheet by visiting the THECB Net Price Calculator and selecting Austin Community College. Additional financial information can be found at the NCES College Navigator site.
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
Whether you're a first-time college student or transfer student, you will complete ACC's enrollment steps to begin earning college credit.
Submit your official military transcripts for evaluation and possible transfer credit. You also must provide the DD Form 214 discharge document if you are a veteran.
Complete the financial aid steps to apply for grants, loans, and/or work-study. You can receive financial aid in addition to your VA benefits.
Apply for disability services to receive assistance or accommodations, if needed.
In most cases, you must pay tuition and fees when you register. Contact an ACC VA specialist before your tuition deadline to confirm other arrangements. Please note: if you are also receiving federal or state financial aid benefits, whatever resource is first available will be used to pay your tuition and fees.
