Duties and Tasks: 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
• Maintain clean and safe facilities which includes organizing materials/supplies.
• Perform clerical duties in support of the department.
• May assist students in a lab/classroom setting.

Campus Specific Requirements: 

CYP - Student must conform to the safety rules and regulations required by full time lab technicians. Student must have taken BIOL 1406 or be enrolled in BIOL 1406. This class will contain basic lab skills the student will need to perform the job. This includes pouring agar, mixing solutions, maintaining lab supplies and chemical inventories. Student will need to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings no later than 8:00 p.m. Student will also need to be available on Saturdays between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m.

EVC - Cleaning glassware while standing, putting away supplies, organizing supplies, taking inventory, preparing supplies for classroom exercises, making copies. Required to wear goggles and gloves during many activities. Potential to learn laboratory specific techniques.

FBG - Monitor open study lab.

NRG - Wash glassware, help maintain live animal displays, help organize lab room and prep room, help clean aquariums, help set up for labs, perform safety checks, perform hazardous waste containment checks, stock chemicals, solutions and supplies. Some Saturday hours, varies between 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

SAC - Clean glassware and lab area; organize lab materials and models; complete safety training; clean transparencies and restock paper towels and solutions; may make microbiological media, inoculate organisms and complete computer website work. Evening and weekend hours available.

RVS - Check in and out tools to students. Answer phones. Clean and maintain the automotive tool room, shop/lab and classroom areas. Possibly handle repair orders and meet with automotive repair customers when they drop off/pick up their vehicles. Some help needed from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Mon- Thurs.
