Professional Development

Due to the Workday implementation effort there will be temporary adjustments made to future training dates. Additionally, the current Professional Database will be replaced with Workday, see below for important transition dates for Staff Professional Development.

  • Mandatory Compliance Training
    • August 9 - November 1, 2021: Mandatory training suspended

      November 2, 2021: Mandatory training resumes in Workday

      All mandatory training for new and current employees is suspended starting Monday, August 9 until November 1, 2021. Disregard notifications sent by the Professional Development Workshops system asking you to complete an expired training.

      Mandatory trainings are: Groundswell (Discrimination & Harassment), Meridians (Title IX & Sexual Misconduct Training) and Tapestry (ADA Awareness) and Cybersecurity. More information about Mandatory Compliance Training at ACC. You will be able to fill these requirements after November 1, 2021.

  • Other Scheduled Training
    • August 1 - October 1, 2021: Professional Development (PD) Workshops will remain open
      September 30, 2021: Last day for employees to copy PD historical reports and data

      The Professional Development Workshops calendar for registration will remain open until October 1, 2021. Previously uploaded and scheduled training activities can be tracked, but completions will need to be updated in the new Workday system after November 1, 2021.

      The responsibility to record attendance will fall under the Learning Partner or Learning Instructor security group that some employees will be assigned to in the Workday system. Workshop presenters and/or facilitators are strongly encouraged to temporarily adopt Google forms to invite, register, and track registration and completions for ongoing training and workshop activities.

  • PD Database Content
    • October 1 - October 16: Blackout dates for Professional Development
      September 30, 2021: Last day to download Professional Development historical reports and data

      All Employees should copy their current FY “completed” menu in the professional development database and copy the information to Google Sheets for individual record before October 1, 2021.

      Data from the Professional Development Database will not be integrated into Workday. Presenters and/or Facilitators must download any historical reports of workshop completions before October 1, 2021. Presenters are strongly encouraged to copy workshop content, such as course titles and descriptions that they would like to upload in Workday.

       

Recruiting and Hiring

Transition dates for recruiting and hiring vary, based on employee types. The following is the transition schedule for staff, full-time faculty, adjunct, and hourly/Work-Study positions that are active in eHire.

Hiring Managers may complete their hiring processes in eHire through December 17. E-Hire Job postings may not be advertised to the public October 2 - October 22.

Positions advertised after ACC's Hiring Blackout Dates (including FY22 Faculty job openings) will be advertised in Workday and begin appearing on ACC's internal and external career sites October 22.

Fall Blackout Dates for Workday implementation: October 1, 2021 – October 15, 2021, this includes job postings, position changes, titles, and stipends.

  • Staff
    • September 16: Last day to submit Requisitions in e-Hire for staff
      September 20: Last e-Hire Job Posting date
      September 30: Last day for applicants to apply to staff postings in e-Hire
      October 1, 2021 – October 15, 2021: Hiring Blackout Dates

      Last eHire job posting date, Monday September 20. Anything that is posted on the website. At this point, eHire jobs may not be reposted if additional applicants are needed. Last closing date for job postings is September 30, 2021
  • Staff, New Employee Orientation Dates
    • September 7: New employee orientation
      September 13: New employee orientation

  • Full-time Faculty
    • September 16: Last day to submit e-Hire requisitions for staff job postings

      Dates mentioned above is for Fall, FY21 full-time Faculty emergency hires. FY22 full-time faculty positions will be advertised in Workday. The last job posting date in eHire is Monday, September 20th. Jobs posted in eHire will not be reposted if additional applicants are needed. The last closing date for a job posting in eHire is September 30, 2021
  • Adjunct Faculty
    • September 23, 2021 – October 18, 2021: Hiring Blackout Dates

      All hiring paperwork must be submitted to HR for new adjunct employees by end of the day on Thursday, September 23. The hiring of adjunct faculty in Workday will resume after go-live.

      Incomplete or incorrect paperwork submitted by end of the day on Thursday will not be processed. Hiring will resume in Workday after go-live using the new process and procedure.

      Do not start adjunct faculty if a timesheet is not available. If there is no timesheet, there is a great risk that the employee will not get paid during this transition.

  • Faculty Onboarding and Orientation Dates
    • August 9 – 13: Faculty Onboarding (includes Adjunct)
      August 16: New Hire Orientation for Full-time Faculty only, presented by Human Resources
  • Hourly Employee Hires - Personnel Authorization (PA) System

    • September 23: Last day to enter and approve PAs for stipends
      September 23, 2021 – October 18, 2021: Hiring Blackout Dates

  • Position Changes
    • September 23: Last day to submit completed position changes

      All position changes (such as supervisor changes, account changes, etc.) need to signed, with completed Position Management Forms submitted to HR by end of the day on Thursday, September 23 in order to be processed prior to Workday go-live.

      Position change paperwork received after September 23 will be returned, and will need to be processed in Workday after go-live under the new process and procedure.
