creates a work of art.  Poetry, novels, plays, and even the comics are examples of literary writing.  Therefore, LANGUAGE is the key focus. “calls attention to the writer’s personal feelings, aspirations, and emotions” (“Writing”).  Journals and diaries are examples of expressive writing. Therefore, the WRITER is the key focus. attempts to get the reader to do something: to buy a certain phone, to stop smoking, to exercise, and so on.  Therefore, the READER is the key focus. provides the reader with information.
