How to take your exams - 3 Steps

1. Do this a couple of days BEFORE you plan to take the exam.
    A. DOWNLOAD “Respondus Lockdown Browser” software by clicking on this link:

    B. When you’re done with the download, the app “Lockdown Browser” will appear on your computer’s Desktop.  
    C. If you already have Lockdown Browser on your Desktop (maybe you already downloaded it for another class) – you DON’T have to download it again.
    D. You only Download this software ONCE, then use it for each exam
    E. Make sure you know how to turn your computer’s webcam and microphone ON.  These must be ON when you take an exam.


2.  When you’re ready to take the exam

    A. Make sure your computer’s webcam and microphone are ON. If you leave the camera or microphone off, your exam will not be accepted.
    B. On your computer’s Desktop, find the “Lockdown Browser” app and OPEN it by clicking on it.
    C. Blackboard will automatically open
    D. Log into Blackboard, using your ACC eID.
    E. On the left in the blue area, click on EXAMS.   
    F. You’ll then see two Folders:  one folder says FORM A
    G. The other Folder says FORM B

    H. If you’re taking an exam for the FIRST TIME, open the folder that says FORM A

    I. Read the Instructions.

    J. Select the exam you want to take by clicking on it.

    K. Select BEGIN to start your exam.

    L. You must stay in front of the computer’s camera and finish the exam once you’ve started it.

    M. You can’t leave the room, unless there is an emergency.   

    N. You cannot turn the camera or microphone off during testing.  If you do, the test will not be accepted as valid.

    O. There is a 30 minute Time Limit for exams

  3.  When you’re done with the exam:

    A. Click on SAVE and SUBMIT
    B. Once you have hit the SUBMIT button you will not be able to re-tope the exam
