Medical
Parasitology/Mycology
These courses are presented in
a concise, clear, and “to-the-point” manner. They provide
brief but pertinent information on the epidemiology of parasitic
infections; life cycles of the parasites; prevention and control
of parasitic infections; and the respective pathogenicity of various
organisms. However, the real emphasis of these courses is to teach
students to recognize the parasites; provide criteria to identify
them; and to demonstrate laboratory procedures used in the process.
Both courses include a brief but
thorough introduction to Mycology.
