Welcome to the Business Management Department of Austin Community College. Our department offers courses leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree, and three Management Certificate Programs. Graduates with the Management AAS, may wish to pursue a four-year non-traditional occupation education degree (BAAS). Students desiring to pursue a traditional, Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) should enroll under the Associate of Science in Business Administration degree plan. We invite you to explore the programs we have to offer. Welcome New Department Chair Frank T. Reid! The Management Department is pleased to welcome and introduce Mr. Frank T. Reid as the new Department Chair effective August 10, 2009. As Department Chair, Mr. Reid will be responsible for providing academic leadership, effective management, and facilitating overall departmental coordination. Quotes from Frank...... The reason that I love teaching at ACC is because I am working with a talented team of professionals who have actually practiced what they are teaching. The diverse student body at ACC also brings a wealth of experiences to the classroom. This creates a dynamic environment based on applying sound theories to real life experiences. There are several key lessons that come from studying management. The first is self awareness about the student's own natural style - the way each person reacts to a situation. The second is a set of tools that allows one to adjust their style to fit the needs of the organization, and the people that the student will be managing. Finally, the student gains the confidence to use the different tools in management situations. A Brown University Graduate and Arizona State University Executive MBA honors graduate, Mr. Reid brings exceptional work experiences and skills to the Department including his more than 20 years of technical executive experience in general management, program management, design management, product marketing, and operational leadership. The Department is excited about the skills Mr. Reid brings as well as his training in increasing organizational profitability and product development acceleration from idea to production. He has served on numerous boards and associations, had a number of articles published and has co-authored a book, “Design and Architecture of ASIC Products”.Mr. Reid’s office will be located on the Riverside Campus, room 9146,
