Who Can Sign Up

17 and 18 year-old students may attend with a copy of a withdrawal letter from the last school they attended and a signed Parent Consent Form. If you can provide proof that you have graduated High School (a copy of your diploma or transcript) You will be exempt from providing the Withdrawal Form and only need to provide the Parental Consent Form. Also, if you can prove that you live separately from your parents, there is a possibility that you may be exempt from the Parental Consent Form.

A 16 year old MUST have a court order and an official ID. Withdrawal letter and parental consent documents are not required with a court order.

Any person 19 years old or older; 16, 17, and 18 year olds may attend with additional paperwork

All students must complete all department paperwork and testing before starting classes.

B and F visas are NOT eligible for this program. If you have a question about your visa, please call our front desk at (512) 223-5123.

What to Bring

You must bring these documents to sign up for the ESL classes:

A government-issued picture ID that includes your date of birth (NO SCHOOL IDS, NO COPIES of IDS)

17 and 18 year-old students may attend with a copy of a withdraw form from district if ever enrolled in a Texas public school or if home schooled - letter from parent stating you are homeschooled; and Any of the below:

  • Parent Consent Form.

  • Court order

  • Proof that you live separate from parent/guardian (utility bill in your name, marriage license, or rental agreement)

  • Attestation of Homelessness

    If you can provide proof that you have graduated High School (a copy of your diploma or transcript) You will be exempt from providing the Withdrawal Form and only need to provide the Parental Consent Form. Your diploma does NOT need to be translated as long as the graduation date is visible.
