The Austin Community College (ACC) District is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. ACC may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels as well. Questions about ACC’s accreditation may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC website (www.sacscoc.org).
The purpose of publishing the name, address, contact numbers, and website of ACC’s institutional accreditor is to meet federal requirements and enable interested constituents to 1) inquire about the accreditation status of Austin Community College; 2) ask questions about the accreditation process; or 3) pursue procedures for filing a complaint against Austin Community College regarding accreditation-related issues. Other inquiries such as ACC admission requirements, educational policies and practices, educational programs, and financial aid, should be addressed to the appropriate ACC office, and not to SACSCOC directly.
The college is recognized and sanctioned by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. It is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Texas Association of Community Colleges.
