Take the fast track to an associate degree
You can earn a high school diploma and an associate degree at the same time by enrolling in one of Austin Community College's partner schools or participate directly in ACC's Early College High School pilot program for independent learners.
The purpose of Early College High School is to enable qualified, motivated students to earn up to 60 hours of college credit and/or an associate degree before earning their high school diplomas.
Who is eligible?
Students entering grade 9 or 10.
- Satisfactory reading and writing scores on the TSI State Test, SAT or ACT exams.
- Acceptance into a partner school or ACC’s Early College High School for Independent Learners program.
- Complete the ACC enrollment process.
- Select and register for ACC classes before the open registration deadline.
What’s the cost?
Classes are free for students enrolled in one of the partner schools. Students enrolled in the Independent Learners program pay a flat rate per-course fee ($100 per course for ACC District residents).
