ACC: Start Here. Get There.

Carnival ah! 2012: How did you get Here? will focus on exploring and celebrating this rich cultural heritage through art, dance, drama, creative writing, philosophical analysis, language, food, film, and more. Through participation in Carnival ah! we will gain a better understanding of and appreciation for ourselves, our neighbors, our history, and how the arts and humanities serve to express and define identity and community.

Defining the culture of the ACC service area is not an easy task. In addition to the original inhabitants of Central Texas, the majority of the people living here are first, second, third, or fourth generation immigrants. Why? More than twenty different ethnicities arrived in this area over the last 100+ years, giving Central Texas a unique cultural history.

As always ah! will present artistic and academic events in the areas of Theatre, Dance, Film, Art, Creative Writing, Religion, English as a Second Language (ESOL), Foreign Languages (FOLA), Philosophy, and the Humanities.

50+ events / 100+ performers will take part in our 2-day outdoor celebration of the Arts and Humanities at ACC RGC!
