Private corporations and government organizations rely on sophisticated electronic equipment for engineering, manufacturing, communication, and embedded control systems. Austin Community College’s Electronics and Advanced Technologies Program prepares you for a variety of careers helping to design, construct, and repair electronic circuits. Career tracks are offered in automation, robotics, and controls; bioinstrumentation; electronics technology; engineering technology; nanoelectronics manufacturing; and networking and computer electronics.

Skills You Gain

Students gain practical hands-on technician skills. Our program allows students to explore the flow of charge through various materials and devices such as semiconductors, resistors, and inductors in a state-of-the-art electronics lab.

Graduates are prepared to work as entry-level technicians tasked with calibrating and maintaining automated systems for a variety of industries, such as automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutics, traditional energy and renewable energy, specialized manufacturing, and aeronautics. They may work in hospitals, clinics, and biotech labs or in clean-room plants.
