Biotechnology

Building blocks for your career breakthrough

In the coming years, some of the world’s biggest challenges will be overcome with the tiniest of solutions. Biotechnology helps us address issues such as climate change, limited global food supply, disease, and much more. In Austin Community College’s Biotechnology Program, you’ll build a foundation for conducting research in both public and private sector laboratories. You’ll build knowledge and practical lab skills needed for entry-level employment in the biotechnology industry. Level 1 certificate, associate degree, and post-bachelor degree tracks are offered.

Career Information

A career in biotechnology gives you an opportunity to apply your problem-solving skills, imagination, and passion for science in a wide range of exciting job possibilities. Advancing technology and an increased demand for research will make this a fast-growing job market for years to come.
