Outside Scholarships

Private organizations including businesses, churches, civic groups, and clubs make scholarships available to deserving students. Check with your local library, the following online search engines, and private organizations for scholarship opportunities.

Due to a high volume of requests, we regret to inform you that ACC can no longer post all outside scholarship opportunities to our website.  Instead, we will only list opportunities provided by local donors specifically aimed at local Central Texas students.

Outside Scholarships
A+ Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program High School graduating seniors pursuing an education major or a major in other fields; and/or current college students with a minimum of 60 collegiate hours, and who have successfully been admitted into the School of Education.  Must be a current A+FCU member, or an immediate family member of an A+FCU member. February
Austin Amateur Radio Club Scholarship Students with at least a 3.0 who hold an amateur radio operator's license January
Black American Comptroller Employees Association, Inc.  Must be a graduating high school senior or a current undergraduate student; have at least a 2.5 GPA; and plan to attend or are currently attending an accredited post secondary educational institution.  Access 2016 scholarship application here. Greater Austin Black Chamber  Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 semester hours as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited institution within the Greater Austin region and be a US citizen.  Minimum 3.0 GPA March
HavenCon Scholarship  Must be a current Texas resident and plan to seek higher education (university, community college, technical school, ect.) in the next academic year. December

Ladies Auxiliary To The Veterans or Foreign Wars Scholarship  Must be a nursing student who will be graduating from a Texas college/university in 2017 with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and be an American citizen. March
MexAustin (Consulate General of Mexico in Austin) First- or second-generation Mexican or Latino immigrants living in Consulate's juristdiction who are entering college for the first time in fall 2016 April
Mitty Guerra Memorial Scholarship Hispanic woman who is residing in Austin, has overcome barriers, and has shown determination in completing her educational goals March

Old Settler's Music Scholarship Program 2016-2017 

Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Austin Community College or Texas State University, and be in pursuit of a music related degree.  Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. (Note:  Deadline extended to Feb 15, 2016) Oct 1 - Feb 15
