Dr. Martinez has been appointed Interim Vice President of Student Affairs effective July 1st 2019. Dr. Martinez will continue to lead administration of admissions and records, student assistance and veteran affairs, student accessibility and social support services, student life, advising, counseling, Title IX, student conduct, behavioral intervention, recruitment, community outreach, bridge and supplemental instruction, student learning labs, and assessment and academic testing.
He was appointed associate vice president of student engagement and analytics in 2016 where he has provided district-wide leadership and strategic direction to learning support services (including tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, and ACCelerators) student life, and institutional analytics. Over his seven years at the college, Dr. Martinez has solidified a reputation for collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure student success. Dr. Martinez holds a bachelors in pure mathematics and a bachelors in applied statistics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a masters in actuarial mathematics and doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in community college leadership and was recently accepted to the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) Fellows Program.
