Supplemental Instruction

What is Supplemental Instruction?

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) program provides academic support to traditionally difficult courses with an SI Leader. The SI Leader is a student who previously performed exceptionally well in a course, and was nominated by a faculty member to support the class for future semesters. The SI Leader assists you with SI study sessions outside of class on a regular schedule. This also gives you the opportunity to network with your classmates to compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and even predict test items at these group study meetings. This service is provided to you at no cost, and studies have shown that students who regularly participate in SI sessions can perform up to a whole letter grade better than those who don’t take advantage of the service.
