Registration Steps

Register & Pay for Classes: A Step-by-Step Guide

You will complete the registration process for each fall, spring, and summer semester you enroll until you apply to graduate and/or transfer.

ACC's advisors and counselors can be an enormous help in answering questions and selecting courses, but remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own preparation, deadlines, and adherence to college policies.

This page lists the steps you need to take before, during, and after each registration period. Read it thoroughly and refer back to it often.

Steps before registration

Taking care of a few things before you register can make the process easier.

Find when you register

Your registration eligibility date determines when you can begin registration for the upcoming semester.

  • Tip: To get the best schedule possible, register as soon as you are eligible.

You can register or change your registration in Online Services beginning on your registration eligibility date and continuing until open registration ends.

Find your registration eligibility date

Clear student holds

A student hold may prevent you from registering for classes. Check for holds.

Plan your classes

You can increase the likelihood of a successful semester if you plan your classes before it’s time to register. Planning tools include your ACC and/or transfer degree plan, schedule planning worksheet (PDF), and the course schedule.

Use following information to plan your next semester:

Plan how you'll pay tuition and fees

Your registration is not guaranteed until you pay your tuition and fees and complete the meningitis requirement.

Steps at registration

You can add or drop classes during open registration. Once the semester or session starts, you may be penalized for dropping/withdrawing from a class.

Log in and register

Online Services allows you to register for classes, pay your tuition, add or drop a course, check your financial aid, and much more. See instructions.

You cannot access the online registration system until your eligibility date. If it's your first time to register, you may find it helpful to review the registration instructions in advance.

Pay your tuition

Tuition and fees are due immediately after you register for classes. Meet your tuition payment deadline to avoid losing your classes. See online payment instructions.

Review/print your schedule

After you register for classes, review and print the "Registration Results." You will not receive a confirmation email.

Print a copy of your schedule or bring the registration results page when you arrive on campus for the first day of class. You will use the information to find your classroom.

Steps after registration

Monitor ACCmail and Online Services regularly in case issues arise with your registration.

If you're a new student, continue to the next enrollment step.

ACC OneCard & tuition refunds

The ACC OneCard will arrive by mail following your first registration. You must activate the card in order to receive financial aid or tuition refunds from ACC.

Canceled class notice

Classes can be canceled due to low enrollment, typically at the end of open registration. Check ACCmail in case this affects you.

Schedule changes (adds/drops)

When a new semester or session starts, students can make schedule changes by adding or dropping classes. Note that adding classes is restricted to current and former students, while dropping a class may have unexpected consequences.

Review important dates & deadlines

Be aware of important dates and deadlines for each semester or session you take classes.
