"We are applying lessons learned this spring to become more effective and better prepared. The transition back will be gradual. It will be a team effort that requires our continued flexibility, ingenuity, and commitment to student success." — Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC President/CEO
HEALTH SCREENING APP
ACC's new health screening app is now available. The app allows you to self-screen for COVID-19 before coming to campus. Get the app here.
HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
All who come to ACC campuses and centers are required to follow new health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and better ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff. Requirements include wearing your ACC ID badge, facial coverings/masks, social distancing, and health screenings. Please view the complete list of health and safety protocols before coming to campus.
ACC's Health & Safety Protocols Training video is available here. It is recommended that you view the video before coming to campus.
CAMPUS HOURS OF OPERATION
ACC campuses remain closed to the public. Non-essential faculty and staff are encouraged to stay home and work remotely through the summer. Beginning July 6, campuses and centers will open only to students attending in-person classes and essential faculty and staff. See the latest campus hours of operation for additional information.
RETURN TO CAMPUS PLAN
All teaching, learning, and working that can be done remotely will continue in a virtual environment. Beginning July 6, ACC will begin to slowly phase-in a limited number of courses that require face-to-face instruction — primarily in health sciences and applied technologies. ACC's most up-to-date Return to Campus plan and timeline are available here.
The college continues to plan for the upcoming fall semester. The transfer back will be gradual and require new safety protocols. Most classes will remain online and most employees will continue to work remotely. Visit the Return to Campus Timeline for more information.
VIRTUAL STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
A full menu of student support services is provided online. See Student Resources for more information. Students who submit the Student Technology Access Form and indicate they need help accessing their online learning environment are eligible to check out an ACC iPad. See Tech Distribution.
In response to COVID-19-related campus closures, Austin Community College now provides free, secure drive-up WiFi to students and employees at all campus locations. WiFi can be accessed from the parking lots seven days a week, 7 am to 11 pm.
CARES ACT STUDENT AID
Currently enrolled ACC students now have access to the CARES Act: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. The CARES Act Student Aid will help eligible students pay expenses related to COVID-19. To apply, click here.
