Lesson 4 Homework
Animate your own missile attack on your (least) favorite city using the techniques discussed in Lessons 14.
NOTE: in the past some students have complained that this exercise is inappropriate in this day and age of violence and terrorism.
So if the subject is bothersome to you, you may swap the missile for a cuddly puppy, swap the city for a fluffy pillow, and animate a puppy bounding onto a pillow (but there will be a land mine under the pillow that makes them both explode :-)
UPDATE: In the past, some students have complained that detonating cuddly puppies is an inappropriate trivializing of animal cruelty. If you are an animal lover and are disturbed by this alternate example, you may substitute the cuddly puppy with a hyper-sensitive ACC student.
Your missile, button, and city do not have to look like the ones on page 2 of this lesson, and the missile does not have to leave a trail of smoke, but your file MUST include:
- the Jet sound fading from one channel to the other,
- missile or rocket (or puppy) you draw yourself,
- a recognizable city different from the one you drew for Lesson 1's homework (or pillow),
- the missile/puppy must not launch until the user presses the launch button,
- the movie must NOT automatically return to frame 1 like the example on page 2 does.
When you test your movie, Flash will generate a .SWF file that you can upload (please do NOT upload your .FLA filethat is the authoring file with all the layers, and uncompressed sounds, and may be too large to send; I may ask to see it if I have questions about how you constructed the animation). NOTE: you do NOT need to zip a .SWF to upload it.
